SPOOLKEEP App
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how your information is managed when you use the SpoolKeep application (hereinafter "the Application"), available on iOS, iPadOS, Android, and macOS.
1. Fundamental Principle: Your Privacy First
SpoolKeep is designed based on a simple principle: your data belongs to you. The Application is created to be a personal and private tool. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data on our own servers.
2. Data Collection and Use
Data You Provide:
The sole purpose of SpoolKeep is to allow you to catalog and manage your collection of 3D printing filament spools. All information you enter into the Application, such as:
- Filament type (PLA, PETG, etc.)
- Brand and exact type
- Color
- Quantity
- Status (opened or not)
- Optional information (price, reference, notes)
- Images you add (from your photo library, via a URL, or with the camera)
are stored solely and exclusively on your device.
Data Stored on Apple and Google Servers:
Some data may be saved on Apple (iCloud) or Google (Google Drive) servers only if you enable synchronization through these services. These backups remain under your control and are governed by Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
Data We Do NOT Collect:
The Application does not collect, track, or transmit any data, including:
- Your personal information (name, email, etc.).
- Analytics or telemetry data about your usage.
- Your location or advertising identifier.
3. Data Storage
All data you enter and generate in SpoolKeep is stored in a local database directly on your device. If you enable synchronization via iCloud (Apple) or Google Drive, your data may also be stored on their respective servers, in accordance with their own privacy policies. The Application developer has no access to this information.
4. Data Sharing
The Application does not share your data with any third-party services, except for the synchronization services (iCloud, Google Drive) that you choose to use. The only situations where your data may leave the Application are as a result of an explicit action on your part:
- Backup export (.json): When you use the export function, a file containing your data is created so you can save it wherever you wish.
- Report generation (.txt): When you generate a report, a text file is created to be shared or saved by you.
You have full control over these files after their creation.
5. Security
The security of your data is ensured by the security mechanisms of your own device and its operating system (iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS). Since we do not store your data on our servers, the risk of a data leak from our systems is non-existent. If you use iCloud or Google Drive, the security of your data is governed by Apple's and Google's security policies.
6. Your Rights Over Your Data
You have full control over your data. At any time, you can:
- Access your data by opening the Application.
- Modify the information for each spool.
- Delete one or more spools.
- Erase all your data using the "Reset Data" function in the settings. This action is irreversible and deletes all information from the Application.
7. Children's Privacy
The Application is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. We advise you to review it regularly.
